Following the approval of proposals for an apprenticeship standard for the cleaning and hygiene sector, employers may now invest millions of pounds yearly in staff training.
The British Cleaning Council (BCC), which has made the completion of the Cleaning Hygiene Operative Apprenticeship one of its top priorities, and hopes to assist in the early 2024 launch of the programme funded by the apprenticeship levy.
Beginning in October, it will host a series of informational AAG (Apprenticeship Advice and Guidance) Zoom sessions led by experts so that employers can learn what the Cleaning Hygiene Operative Apprenticeship means for them and how to implement it in their workplace.
This comes as welcome news to many small to medium sizes commercial cleaning companies who have struggled to fill vacant cleaning positions since 2020.
